Data we use and why
When you order or contact us, we process the details you provide, such as your name, phone number, email, delivery address, purchased items and messages. We use order history and payment status to fulfil orders, arrange delivery or returns, answer requests and meet legal obligations. The website and hosting service process technical information, such as IP addresses and request logs, to operate and secure the service.
Processing needed to take and fulfil your order is based on the contract or steps you request before it. Tax, accounting and other mandatory records are processed to meet legal obligations. Our legitimate interest in operating a secure service and preventing misuse supports necessary technical security processing, subject to your rights. If you do not provide the contact and delivery details needed for an order, we cannot process or deliver it. Marketing requires consent where required by law; you may withdraw it or ask us to stop direct marketing at any time. Withdrawal does not invalidate earlier lawful processing.
Payment, partners and transfers
We use Flitt for hosted payment processing, netcup for website hosting in Germany and HawkHost for email. Full card details are entered in Flitt's payment environment; ZipShop receives payment status and transaction information. Local delivery or collection providers receive only the contact and address details necessary for that service. Authorities or professional advisers may receive relevant records where required by law or necessary to handle a legal claim.
We arrange product sourcing and importation ourselves. Chinese sellers do not receive your name, delivery address or contact details. Using a freight forwarder to import goods does not itself mean that your customer details are sent to Chinese sellers.
Website data is processed outside Georgia through hosting in Germany. Germany is on Georgia's official list of countries providing adequate personal-data safeguards; this is the safeguard relied on for the German hosting transfer. You can request further information about the providers handling your data and the applicable safeguards at zip@zipshop.ge.
Cookies
The shop uses functional cookies for sessions and the cart. You can manage cookies through your browser; disabling functional cookies may prevent parts of the shop from working.
Retention and security
We keep order, payment and return records for as long as needed to complete the order, handle returns, refunds or complaints, and comply with applicable tax, accounting and legal-claim retention requirements. Support correspondence is retained while needed to resolve the request and any related dispute or legal obligation. Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for operation, security and investigating incidents. Where a single fixed period cannot be stated, the relevant obligation, completion of the request and applicable claim periods determine retention; once no continuing purpose or legal duty remains, records are deleted or anonymised.
We use access restrictions and appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data. Retention does not give us an unlimited right to keep data; you can request information, deletion or restriction at zip@zipshop.ge. We explain any legal reason that prevents full deletion.
Your rights
Under Georgian law, you may request information about processing, access to and a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, and deletion or cessation of processing where the law provides. You may withdraw consent and object to direct marketing. Send your request to zip@zipshop.ge; we will handle it under the applicable legal procedure and time limits. If you believe your rights have been breached, you may contact Georgia's State Audit Office or the courts.
You may also request restriction or blocking of processing, portability where applicable, and review of a decision based solely on automated processing where the law provides.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will publish the updated text and its effective date on the site and provide any notice required by law.
